| Amit started a dairy business by investing Rs. 70000. He added Rs. 10000 every year in his investment. After 3 years his friend Prashant joined him with an amount of Rs. 100000. Thereafter, from this year Amit did not invest any additional amount. After 6 years they earned a total profit of Rs. 135000. Find Amit’s share in the profit.

A. 95000

B. 90000

C. 85000

D. 65000

Right Answer is: C

SOLUTION

Ratio of investment –

Amit → 70000×1 + 80000×1 + 90000×4 = 510000

Prashant → 100000×3 = 300000

Amit : Prashant = 17 : 10

Let Amit’s profit = 17k

Prashant Profit = 10k

27k = 136000

k = 5000

Required Amit’s profit = 17k = 85000.
