The per day digging of all three combined is 54 (918/17) metres.

Hence, their average should be 18.

This means that the first will dig 18 – x, the second, 18 & the third 18 + x per day.

Now given 14 One day work of A = 10 One day work of C

14 (18 – x) = 10 (18 + x)

252 – 14x = 180 + 10x

x = 3

So C digs 21 meters (18 + 3) per day.
